This has been a year of change for me, so I decided it would be a fitting time to sign up for my first triathlon. I first got the idea in my head last summer and at that time could barely run a mile before I was out of breath. However, after months of diligent training, I successfully completed my first sprint triathlon last weekend.
I was stopped in a large cosmetics store the other day by a tenaceous sales associate, who wanted me to experience a handheld brush device with vibrating bristles that exfoliates the skin. Honestly, the device scared me a little bit, reminded me of an oversized version of my toothbrush, and it made me want to research the process of exfoliation. I set out to clear the air about: what amount of exfoliation, if any, is healthy, and to what degree is it not healthy?

Cold weather means a dryer climate, and hiding out indoors for the majority of the day. When the furnace is running, it emits dry air, which can dry out the skin. Think about what your dryer does to your clothes after an hour! As soon as the temp drops, we're soon to notice our skin becoming dry and itchy, our lips getting chapped, and other adverse effects.

Take a few minutes to write down all the things you put on your skin today. I’ll go ahead and share with you what I put on my skin: Dermagenics Women’s Moisturizer, Secret deodorant, Shikai Vanilla body wash, Dermagenics (soon to be launched) facial cleanser, a spritz of Kai Perfume, Trader Joe’s French Orange Blossom Hand Wash (about 10 times, I’m OCD), Makeup Forever Foundation, Smashbox blush and eye shadow, Smashbox lip gloss. I washed dishes with Mrs. Myers dish soap as well.
