ANTIOXIDANTS PLAY CRITICAL ROLE IN SKIN RECOVERY
We've all heard how good antioxidants are for you. You may have started taking antioxidant supplements, or began incorporating antioxidants into your diet because we've been trained that they're "good for you".
We've been told for the past decade to eat foods high in antioxidants, including: fish oils, omega-3's, blueberries, acai berries, pomegranates, and so on. These superfoods are great for preventing all kinds of health problems, like cancer, heart disease, Alzheimer's, and many signs of aging.
What you may not know is that they're more important than ever when recovering from an invasive medical procedure. Whether you have bruising, swelling, incisions, scrapes, or sores, antioxidants are more critical than ever to 1) speed healing, 2) reduce scarring, and 3) help skin heal optimally.
Whether you take a spill and end up with scrapes and bruises, or you're healing from surgery, make sure to eat/drink/take your antioxidants to ensure a speedy recovery!
